Get involved with our second volunteer day where we will be serving meals, helping people in need, helping handicapped kids, giving free hugs and much more.

Volunteer Opportunities 
 

Serve the City Event - 16th April

Carrefour Rue will be partnering with Serve the City on the 16th April and is looking for volunteers to sign up for the following service projects:

- 20 volunteers to help with gardening at a vacation centre in Onex.
We will help brighten up the centre before the summer season for people and families who don't have the means to get away for a break during the summer.

- 30 volunteers to help out at the 'Brocante d'Ali Baba', not far from Carouge.
We will be helping with emptying and sorting various items at the storehouse to distribute to needy people in the Geneva area.


- 5-10 volunteers to do an 'animation' or show for the kids at Clairbois Lancy.
We are looking for people who have cooking skills (baking cookies etc...), someone to manage the music, and someone who can lead games, kids activities. This would involve organizing a party and games for the kids with music (DJ) and snacks.
The team of volunteers would be required to visit before 16 April to be introduced to the children with special needs.


- 10 Volunteers  to help lay carpet in Villa Baulacre
Following the fire which destroyed the attic floor in May 2010, operated by the association Carrefour-Rue.


- Random Acts of Kindness
A little bit of TLC can brighten up someone's day no end. A free hug, giving out flowers, handing out hot drinks and snacks to the homeless or a thirsty or hungry passer by with a smile and an encouraging conversation. We will be organizing a variety of random acts of kindness through out the city.
