Refugee Projects soon to be scheduled.

We now meeting with Hospice Général looking at various ways to work with refugees in Geneva.

HG would like assistance from STCG in two areas:

  1.     Volunteers who can house refugees for short periods.
  2.     Volunteers to help with the integration of the refugees through translation from French to English, Arabic, Farsi and Dari, etc.

Specific projects where STC Volunteer translators are needed;

  •      Life in Switzerland – Tuesdays and Thursdays
  •      Sightseeing tours – Wednesday afternoons. – 3 hours.

We are trying to assess how many of our STC volunteers might be interested in working in any of these areas with the HG.  If this is something that might be if interest to you. Please sign up on our website and we will communicate our responses during our next meeting with HG.

This is best suited for French speakers or listed languages above, but there may be opportunities for English only speakers as well, so don’t be bashful.

Project leader:  Position is available but should be able to speak French and co-odinate activities.. with the various HG groups…

A Saturday Evening Cleanup project. Wednesday 13 Feb.

For several years we have been working with the volunteer ESCA CancerSupport, helping them get attention and financial support thru their Paddle for Cancer Event.  Now they are putting on a dance in the Chateau de Coppet , Wednesday 13 February.   Now of course all are welcome to attend the dance but they could use a couple of strong men/women to help clean up after the dance.(about midnight). So the request is; if you are an insomniac, just crazy to help any time any place, just love what ESCA is doing, or you are coming to the dance and don’t mind staying on.    THIS IS FOR YOU.  Sign up on STC website..
