Serve The City Geneva

January 2021 Newsletter

Dear All,

Firstly we would like to thank all of you who helped in our kitchen projects at both La Ferme du Bude and Hotel Bel Esperance over the last 6 months. With your help we have produced over 17000 nutritious and balanced meals that were distributed to the city’s most vulnerable people.

With the support of Mater foundation and talented chef Walter el Nager, Serve the City is again looking for volunteers to help in a new kitchen that has been secured at Servette Church, Avenue Wendt 55, Servette.

The project will run from Weds 13th January until Weds 10th February. We are looking for the following volunteers:

Kitchen Helpers

We urgently require 2 helpers to work in our kitchen alongside the chef. The role will involve washing, cutting and prepping of food. The hours of work will be from 0915 to 1515 daily Monday to Friday.

Driver

We also require 1 driver to dispatch food daily. The volunteer would need to use their own car. You would need to collect the food at around 0930am from the kitchen in Servette and drop it off at 2/3 shelters in the city. It should take around 2 hours of time max.

Food Packing at PalExpo

Could still use some help preparing food packs for those who are having economic problems from the epidemic.

With winter temperatures plummeting coupled with the devastating effects of Covid 19 we urgently are calling volunteers to help us with any amount of time they can spare.

Please do sign up on our website for an event that suits you and we wish you a great 2021.

Kind Regards,

The Serve the City team.
