Samedi du Partage
This event is held twice a year, in June and November.
The next collection will take place on June 10 and 11, 2022

Serve the City has committed to provide volunteers to 7 stores and hope you will be able to participate in this very special event.. The stores we serve are listed under current activities or at the Signup page.

URGENT REQUEST- UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

Dear volunteers,

we are urgently looking for volunteers to help with meal prep at Hotel Bel Esperance in Geneva Old Town. This is a joint project between the Salvation Army and Serve the City Geneva.

We are looking for committed volunteers who could take as little as one shift per week. The kitchen will be opened 7/7 so even weekend support is required.

The shifts are 3 hours in length:

Lunch Service: 11h30 -14h30

Dinner Service:18h30 -21h30

Please Sign up on the website. And in the comments mention, which day of the week is of interest along with your preferred shift (lunch or dinner) that would be great.

Ideally we would like volunteers to keep the same shift for a minimum of 1-2 months.

In addition, there will also be a couple hours of training for all volunteers to complete- before starting the role. The training will be conducted by the Salvation Army project manager.

We really hope that you can help with this urgent request and support those Ukrainians who have suffered so much.

I will be on hand to coordinate our volunteers and provide any further information.

Kind Regards,

Simon Carrelli
Serve the City Project Coordinator

Please indicate dates and shifts of interest in comments below. The Soup Kitchen across from the train station needs a paint job. We are looking for about 6 painters on the weekend of 26 and 27 March. Jardin de Montbrillant, Rue de Montbrillant 3, Genève. Indicate day(s) of interest in comments below. More details will be available when you signup.

For a while we are still looking for sandwich makers Mondays and Tuesdays. There are more people opting to take-away the meal than to sit in. Sandwiches delivered by STCG volunteers are greatly helping out. “The CR team was really not prepared to see so many come to get the meal and we ran out of food. Luckily we had the sandwiches to hand out. “

And yes we are still supporting creating food packets for some 5,000 of the cities people who have be hurt economically from the Covid pandemic.

Do help.. and thanks. The STC team.
